Spanning 38 kilometers with moderate difficulty, this 7-day, 6-night trek takes you
through alpine pastures, coniferous woods, and pristine Himalayan villages. Whether
you’re trekking for spiritual renewal or raw mountain adventure, this route promises an
unforgettable connection to nature and self.
Itinerary
Spiritual and scenic, this daily plan covers dense forests, peaceful meadows, and the
gradual ascent to a high-altitude sacred site.
DAY 1 - Rishikesh to Joshimath
Begin your Himalayan adventure with a scenic drive from Rishikesh or
Haridwar to the gateway towns of Chamoli or Gopeshwar, nestled in the
foothills of the Garhwal Himalayas. The journey offers dramatic views of
river valleys, ridges, and terraced fields.
DAY 2 - Joshimath – Kalpeshwar Trek – Drive to Sagar Village
Embark on a moderately steep 10 km trek from Helang to Kalpeshwar,
passing through charming Himalayan villages and vibrant green forests.
Pay homage at the Kalpeshwar Temple, one of the Panch Kedars dedicated
to Lord Shiva. Afterward, drive to Sagar Village for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Sagar Village to Panar Bugyal
Start with a short drive (20 km) to the trek's starting point. Then hike
12 km uphill through meadows and mixed forests to reach Panar Bugyal.
This high-altitude meadow offers incredible views and serene
surroundings, ideal for camping or a local homestay.
Day 4: Panar Bugyal – Rudranath – Return to Panar
Set out on a challenging 14 km round trek to the revered Rudranath
Temple, perched in the lap of the mountains. This sacred site is known
for its spiritual energy and panoramic Himalayan vistas. After visiting
the temple and soaking in the views, return to Panar Bugyal for the
night.
Day 5: Panar to Sagar Village
Retrace your route on a 12 km downhill trek back to Sagar Village. Enjoy
the peaceful descent, stopping to appreciate the sights that may have
gone unnoticed earlier. Rest for the night in the village.
Day 6: Sagar to Rishikesh
Conclude the journey with a scenic 250 km drive (8–9 hrs) back to
Rishikesh. Spend your evening exploring the ghats, local cafes, or
simply relaxing by the banks of the Ganga. Your trek concludes here.
