Overview
Perched at an impressive altitude of 14,000 feet, the Hampta Pass trek offers a
captivating contrast between two striking landscapes. Nestled in the heart of Himachal
Pradesh, India, this exhilarating journey begins in the lush green valleys of Kullu and
ascends into the stark, rugged terrain of Lahaul.
Trekkers are treated to spectacular views of the Dhauladhar mountain range, set against
a vibrant backdrop of blooming wildflowers—making it an ideal escape for nature lovers
and adventure enthusiasts alike. The trek provides a harmonious blend of natural charm,
excitement, and panoramic vistas.
Covering a distance of approximately 35 km over the course of 5 days, the trail winds
through verdant meadows, thick forests, and steep ascents. From serene valleys and river
crossings to dramatic high-altitude passes, the Hampta Pass trek transitions from
Kullu’s lush greenery to Lahaul’s arid landscapes, culminating at 14,100 feet. It

Itinerary
Day-wise itinerary that captures changing landscapes, river crossings, and a thrilling
crossover to a contrasting region — perfectly planned for adventure lovers.
DAY 0 - Depart from Delhi
- Depart from Delhi in the evening via bus/Volvo.
- Overnight journey to Manali.
- Prepare for the trek starting the next day.
DAY 1 - Manali to Jobra → Trek to Chika (10,100 ft)
- Shared jeep ride from Manali bus stand to Jobra (trek starting
point).
- Trek to Chika (approx. 2 km) through forests of pine, maple, and
birch
along River Rani.
- Altitude gain: up to 10,400 ft.
- Scenic views of rocky Himachali terrain.
- Overnight stay in tents at Chika campsite.
Day 2: Chika → Balu ka Ghera (11,900 ft)
- Begin trek from Chika to Balu ka Ghera.
- Witness outer Himalayan and Dhauladhar ranges.
- Gradual altitude gain and changing landscapes.
- Campsite at Balu ka Ghera, surrounded by mountain views.
- Overnight stay in tents.
Day 3: Balu ka Ghera → Hampta Pass (14,100 ft) → Siagoru (12,900 ft)
- Start at Balu ka Ghera (12,900 ft), ascend to Hampta Pass (14,100
ft),
then descend to Siagoru (12,900 ft).
- Approx. 8-hour trek with moderate difficulty.
- Cross snowfields, glacial paths, and rocky ridges.
- Interact with local shepherds en route.
- Transition from green Hampta Valley to barren Lahaul Valley.
- Overnight stay in tents at Siagoru.
Day 4: Siagoru → Chatru (11,000 ft) → Drive to Chandratal → Return to Chatru
- 4-hour trek from Siagoru to Chatru via Pir Panjal range.
- Enjoy desert-like landscapes of Spiti Valley.
- Arrive at Chatru for lunch and rest.
- 4-hour drive to Chandratal Lake (14,100 ft).
- Explore the pristine, high-altitude lake.
- Return drive to Chatru for overnight camping.
Day 5: Chatru → Manali → Delhi
- Drive back to Manali via the Atal Tunnel.
- Scenic route through valleys and mountains.
- Arrive in Manali by evening.
- Continue return journey to Delhi via overnight bus.
Inclusion
- Accommodation: All essential camping gear like tents, sleeping bags, and mats
will be provided. Tents are typically shared among 3–4 trekkers.
- Meals:All meals during the trek (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening tea)
are included. Food is simple, nourishing, and usually a mix of Indian and
continental dishes.
- Trekking Team: The package includes skilled trek leaders, experienced guides,
and a support crew to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience..
- Transport:Transportation from the starting point of the trek to the endpoint
is covered in the package..
- First Aid:
A basic medical kit will be carried along for emergencies.
Exclusion
- Purchases: Items like bottled water, energy drinks, snacks, and alcohol are
not covered.
- Travel Insurance: You are required to arrange your own travel insurance; it
is not included.
- Medical Evacuation: In case of emergencies requiring evacuation (like
helicopter rescue), the cost must be borne by the trekker.
- Gratuities:Tipping the trekking staff is optional and not part of the
package.
- Other Expenses:
Any services not listed in the inclusions section are not part of the package.
Things To Carry
- Backpack: A durable, comfortable backpack for carrying all essentials.
- Clothing: Include warm layers and waterproof gear like thermals, fleece,
jackets,
gloves, and a woolen cap.
- Footwear:Quality trekking shoes with grip, along with extra pairs of socks.
- Hydration:Carry water bottles or a hydration bladder to stay well-hydrated
throughout the trek.
- Snacks:Bring dry snacks like energy bars, nuts, and dried fruits for extra
energy.
- Medical Kit: A personal first-aid kit with painkillers, bandages, and
antiseptics.
- Lighting:A headlamp or flashlight for visibility during evenings or in low
light.
- ID Proof:A valid government-issued ID (like Aadhar or Driver’s License) for
identity verification.
CONFIRMATION POLICY
- A booking confirmation voucher will be emailed within 24 hours of successful
booking.
- If your chosen date is unavailable, a new date as per your preference will be
offered, and a revised confirmation will be sent.
- You may cancel the booking before confirmation if rescheduling isn’t acceptable, and
a full refund will be processed.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- 45+ days before start: 25% of trek cost will be charged.
- 15–30 days before start: 50% of trek cost will be charged.
- 0–15 days before start: No refund; 100% cancellation charges apply.
- Weather/Government restrictions: In case of cancellations due to weather or
administrative orders, alternatives will be offered, but no cash refunds are
possible.
REFUND POLICY:
- If you opt for a refund after cancellation, the amount will be credited back to the
original payment method within 10–12 working days.
